1. About These Terms
These terms govern your use of the Salon First website and purchases made through it. Our Privacy Policy, Returns Policy, Delivery Information and any product-specific, promotion or training terms also apply.
Where terms are inconsistent, mandatory applicable law takes precedence, followed by specific terms disclosed for the relevant product, promotion or service.
By using our website, creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If purchasing on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
2. Trade Customers & Account Registration
Salon First is a trade-only supplier to the professional beauty industry. Customers must be genuine beauty-industry professionals or approved trade businesses.
This includes beauty therapists, nail technicians, lash and brow artists, spray tan technicians, day spas, massage therapists, hairdressers and other approved beauty professionals.
You must provide accurate and current registration information and keep your account login details secure.
We may request information to verify trade eligibility and may refuse, suspend or close accounts that do not meet our trade requirements, provide false information or are used unlawfully.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a purchase agreement.
3. Products & Professional Use
Some products supplied by Salon First are intended exclusively for trained or qualified professionals.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that products are used by appropriately trained and qualified individuals, and that any necessary licences, training and insurance are maintained.
Products must be stored, handled and used in accordance with manufacturer instructions, safety warnings and applicable laws.
Product images, colours and descriptions are provided for general reference. Packaging, formulations and specifications may change from time to time.
4. Prices, GST & Availability
Unless otherwise stated, prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Delivery charges and any additional applicable fees are displayed at checkout or quoted separately.
Prices, promotions and product availability may change before an order is accepted.
Products are subject to availability. If an item becomes unavailable after an order is placed, we may offer an alternative, arrange a backorder where agreed or refund the affected amount.
We reserve the right to correct genuine pricing, description or system errors. If an error affects an order already submitted, we will contact you with the available options.
Reasonable quantity limits may apply, including supplier or brand restrictions.
5. Orders & Acceptance
Submitting an order constitutes an offer to purchase. An automated order acknowledgement confirms receipt but does not necessarily mean the order has been accepted.
An order is accepted when we confirm acceptance or begin fulfilling it.
We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch where reasonably necessary, including where:
- Stock is unavailable.
- Payment cannot be verified.
- Customer details cannot be confirmed.
- A genuine pricing or system error occurs.
- Supplier restrictions apply.
- Fraudulent or unauthorised activity is suspected.
- The order breaches these terms.
Where an order is cancelled after payment has been received, the affected amount will be refunded.
6. Payment & Payment Verification
Payment must be received and successfully processed before goods are dispatched or made available for collection.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Google Pay. Direct bank deposits are also accepted for phone orders.
We do not accept cheques or Afterpay. Customers may use a Zip Visa Card wherever Visa and Mastercard are accepted.
Online card payments are securely processed through Braintree, a PayPal service. Salon First does not store complete card details.
As part of payment verification, a temporary card authorisation may appear on your account. This is not an additional purchase charge.
We may undertake additional verification where necessary to protect customers and prevent fraudulent transactions. This may include a small verification refund and a request to confirm the credited amount.
Orders may be held while verification is completed. If verification cannot be completed, we may decline or cancel the order.
Never provide your card PIN, online-banking password or one-time security code to Salon First.
Refund processing times depend on the relevant bank, card issuer or payment provider.
7. Delivery & Collection
Salon First delivers within Australia only, unless otherwise expressly agreed.
We use a combination of courier services and Australia Post to deliver orders.
Most orders placed before 2pm are dispatched the same business day. Dispatch and delivery timeframes are estimates and are not guaranteed.
Delivery charges depend on the delivery location, parcel size and any additional freight requirements.
Customers must provide complete and accurate delivery information. Additional charges may apply where incorrect information results in failed delivery or redelivery.
We strongly recommend providing a delivery address where someone is available to receive and sign for goods.
Authority to leave is not permitted on a customer's first order.
For subsequent orders, authority to leave may be available subject to carrier conditions and delivery circumstances. Where authorised, unattended delivery is at the customer's risk to the extent permitted by law.
Click & Collect customers may be required to provide order identification and evidence of authority to collect.
Please refer to our Delivery Information and FAQ pages for further details.
8. Returns, Faults & Refunds
Our Returns Policy explains the conditions and procedures for returning goods.
Change-of-mind returns are discretionary and subject to our Returns Policy, including applicable time limits, product exclusions and original-condition requirements.
If goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise fail to meet an applicable consumer guarantee, please contact our team.
Nothing in these terms or our Returns Policy excludes or restricts rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Consumer Guarantees & Warranties
Where applicable, goods purchased from Salon First are covered by consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
These rights apply independently of any manufacturer's warranty or discretionary change-of-mind policy.
The remedies available depend on the nature of the issue and whether the failure is major or minor.
Consumer guarantee remedies may not apply to problems caused by misuse, accidental damage, improper storage, unauthorised modification or failure to follow product instructions, except where required by law.
10. Limitation of Liability
Salon First Australia Pty Ltd operates in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law, as applicable in the State of Victoria, Australia.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights, guarantees or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.
To the extent permitted by law, Salon First is not liable for loss or damage arising from the misuse of products, failure to follow manufacturer instructions, inadequate professional training, improper storage or unauthorised product modifications.
Where permitted by law, Salon First's liability for indirect or consequential losses is limited to the extent legally permissible.
11. Promotions, Discount Codes & Gift Cards
Promotions and discount codes are subject to the specific terms displayed with each offer.
Unless otherwise stated, promotional codes cannot be combined, applied retrospectively or exchanged for cash.
Product, brand, customer, quantity and expiry restrictions may apply. Certain promotions may exclude other offers or sale periods, as disclosed in their terms.
We may correct or cancel promotions affected by genuine errors, system malfunctions, misuse or fraudulent activity, subject to applicable law.
Gift cards, where offered, are subject to their stated conditions and applicable Australian gift-card laws.

Workshop and training bookings are not confirmed until full payment has been received, unless otherwise agreed.
Places may be limited and advance bookings are essential.
Salon First may cancel, postpone, relocate or change a session where reasonably necessary, including due to presenter availability, insufficient attendance or circumstances outside our control.
Where changes occur, we will contact attendees and provide appropriate options in accordance with applicable law and event-specific conditions.
Unless otherwise stated at booking, attendee cancellations must be received at least seven business days before the session to be eligible for a discretionary refund or transfer.
This cancellation condition does not limit any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Attendees must behave professionally and follow reasonable safety and conduct directions. Children, friends and family members may attend only where expressly permitted.

20. Events Outside Reasonable Control
Neither party is responsible for delay or failure to perform an obligation, other than payment obligations already due, where caused by circumstances outside that party's reasonable control, to the extent permitted by law.
Such circumstances may include severe weather, natural disasters, fire, government action, transport disruptions, telecommunications failures, labour disputes, pandemics or material supply-chain disruptions.
The affected party must take reasonable steps to minimise the impact and resume performance as soon as reasonably possible.
21. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend, restrict or terminate access to an account or the website where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, unlawful activity has occurred or security is at risk.
Termination does not affect rights or obligations arising before termination, including outstanding payment obligations.
22. Changes to These Terms
Salon First may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time by publishing a revised version on our website.
The terms applicable to an order are generally those in effect when the order was accepted, unless a change is required by law or otherwise agreed.
23. Disputes
If a dispute arises, please contact Salon First first so we can attempt to resolve the matter promptly and in good faith.
Where a dispute cannot be resolved directly, either party may propose mediation before commencing court proceedings.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from exercising rights available under law, including approaching a regulator, tribunal or court where applicable.
24. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
Subject to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, the parties submit to the courts and tribunals having jurisdiction in Victoria.
25. General
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
Failure or delay in enforcing a right does not constitute a waiver of that right.
Headings are included for convenience and do not affect interpretation of these terms.
